Hashalom Railway Station Upgrade

The project aimed at improving the level of service provided to railway customers and by adding a new terminal for passenger entry and exit to and from the railway station platforms directly onto the south side of the Hashalom Bridge and by construction of a vehicle parking area.

Complexity of the project:
Two huge approx. 6.5 m high, 60 m long and 560 ton steel buildings were lifted in this project. [Each] building was equivalent in length to two railcars, weighing approx. 3 railcars and with a height equivalent to a double-decker railcar. The steel structures will be used as a base for the southern terminal hall floor. This is one of the most complex engineering undertakings ever executed in Israel and by Israel Railways in particular.
